Education, Human Rights and Digital Transformation

Within the framework of its Strategy 2024—2029, the RIDHE opens an international call to identify, articulate and accompany innovative educational initiatives that integrate digital transformation and human rights, strengthening cooperation between actors in Latin America and the European Union.

Brussels, January 12, 2026.- Technological changes are transforming the way we teach, learn and relate to each other in educational spaces. For the European International Human Rights Network (RIDHE), these processes make sense if they contribute to reducing inequalities, expanding rights and strengthening fairer and more inclusive educational communities.

In that spirit, this open call seeks to accompany initiatives that use digital transformation as a tool at the service of education and human rights, from an ethical and collaborative perspective between Latin America and the European Union.

The RIDHE seeks to learn about initiatives that connect technological innovation with inclusion, equity and social justice, especially in contexts crossed by structural inequalities and democratic crises.

The proposals may address, among other topics, the use of artificial intelligence in educational processes, immersive technologies for learning, robotics and STEAM education, as well as digital tools aimed at the accessibility and ethical use of data. Approaches that integrate these technologies in a critical, contextualized and people-centered way are valued.

The call is open to organizations, educational institutions, teaching groups, researchers, rights defenders and social actors from Latin America and the European Union who wish to collaborate, research or develop educational initiatives in coordination with the RIDHE.

On the trends that mark the RIDHE approach

- Artificial Intelligence and personalized learning

AI makes it possible to adapt content, rhythms and methodologies to the realities of each student, optimizing educational processes and freeing up teachers' time for pedagogical and human support.

- Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality

Immersive technologies open up new possibilities for experiential learning, facilitating the understanding of complex content and the development of 21st century skills, from early childhood education to secondary education.

- Educational robotics and STEAM approach

From an early age, robotics encourages critical thinking, creativity and collaborative work, connecting learning with real problem solving.

-Technologies for accessibility and inclusive education

Accessible digital tools are key to removing barriers and guaranteeing the right to education for people with functional, linguistic diversity or in contexts of exclusion.

-Big Data and educational analytics with an ethical approach

The responsible use of data makes it possible to make more informed pedagogical decisions, improve emotional well-being and strengthen safe and inclusive educational environments.
