The creation of this space for active participation between various organizations that are part of the European International Human Rights Network (RIDHE) responds to the firm commitment to promote, defend and guarantee the human rights of people with disabilities. Faced with a global context marked by inequalities, exclusion and structural discrimination, a collective platform is consolidated that connects knowledge, struggles and transformative proposals.
This program seeks identify the systematic exclusion of people with disabilities and propose actions based on concrete recommendations for States, institutions and civil society in general.
The recommendations made by several international organizations include the adoption of the social model of disability, the guarantee of the right to the exercise of legal capacity, and the implementation of clear regulatory frameworks that prevent, punish and redress their violations.
Faced with this reality, space becomes an ecosystem of strategic influence for the socialization of good practices: it seeks to strengthen collective action, promote inter-institutional coordination, among others. The RIDHE wants to promote the construction of inclusive and accessible public policies, emphasizing the direct participation of people with disabilities as active holders of rights.
Thus, this program not only makes structural barriers visible, but also promotes their transformation through collaborative processes aimed at social justice, equity and the full exercise of human rights for the entire population.
